Woman wounded following domestic-related shooting in Mifflin County

Mifflin County, PA (WJAC) Authorities in Mifflin County say a woman was wounded Sunday afternoon after being shot during a domestic-related incident in Lewistown. Lewistown police say officers were dispatched around 2:30 p.m. to the 500 block of West 4th Street for reports of the alleged shooting.

Police say the victim was reportedly shot twice "in the side" and was transported to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Upon further investigation, police say the shooting reportedly occurred when the victim got into an altercation with another individual inside the residence.

Investigators say the victim was reportedly armed with a knife at the time of the shooting.

Police noted that it was an isolated incident and there is no danger to the public.
