MONROEVILLE, Pa. (AP) - Police are investigating a shooting at a western Pennsylvania strip mall.

Monroeville police were taping off the Miracle Ear store outside a small plaza in this municipality about 15 miles east of Pittsburgh.

The shots were reportedly fired just after 2 p.m. and there was broken glass at the hearing aid store, where calls were being routed to corporate offices. The company didn't immediately respond to a call seeking comment.

The plaza is also home to a UPS Store, where a clerk said business was continuing normally but otherwise declined comment. A salon also in the plaza didn't return a call for comment.

Police haven't said what prompted the shooting or whether anyone was in custody. Police were outside the emergency room at nearby UPMC East hospital, but there were no immediate reports of injuries.
