One dead after head-on collision on Colonel Drake Highway

LOGAN TWP., Pa. (WJAC) According to police, one person is dead following a head-on collision on Colonel Drake Highway near Ashville on Wednesday. According to the Logan Township Police Department, they were dispatched to the scene about half a mile south of Skyline Dr. around 4:30 p.m.

According to the Logan Township Police Department, they were dispatched to the scene about half a mile south of Skyline Dr. around 4:30 p.m.

According to authorities, the two-vehicle crash involved a Ford truck and a Dodge Grand Caravan. Police reported the truck was on fire and the driver was lifeflighted to Pittsubrgh with severe burns. According to police, 61-year-old Dennis Ivory was driving the Dodge. They said he was trapped inside the van and suffered fatal injuries.

Multiple other emergency services were on scene, including the United Fire Department, Newburg Fire Department, Ashville Fire Department, AMED and PennDOT.

The investigation into what caused the crash is ongoing.
