CENTRE COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — A former inmate at the Centre County Prison has filed a federal lawsuit claiming the lack of medical treatment and other conditions at the prison are "shameful.”
Jessica Tressler says she was an inmate at the prison in April of 2022.
She claims despite being in severe pain, she wasn't properly treated at the prison for opiate withdrawal and an infection, and was eventually transferred to a hospital for heart valve surgery.
Tressler is seeking more than five million dollars in damages.
