The Bedford County Humane Society held its annual "PupArt" event Sunday afternoon. The Humane Society encouraged folks to bring their pets to the fundraiser and check out some local artisans.

6 News certainly didn't have a ruff time catching up with some pets at the event.

"Oh my gosh. The dog turnout, I'm amazed," ecstatic BCHS volunteer Sue Roadman told 6 News. "And seems to be pretty, pretty, uh, civil for as many dogs in one place."

"We partnered with our arts society last year. And so, we really wanted to bring the arts and animal-lovers together," BCHS board member Mallory Pachtman explained. "This year we've kind of expanded away from the arts center, but still, also just wanted to have a really pet-friendly event and feature a ton of local vendors."

And dogs of all shapes and sizes seemed to get along swimmingly at the Humane Society's 2nd annual "PupArt" event.

"I have Moose, he's a 10-year-old golden doodle," said Roadman, pointing to her dogs wading in a kiddie pool to escape the humidity. "And then I have Bear, and Bear I got from the Bedford County Humane Society last fall, when he was an eight-week-old puppy. And now here he is, and he is coming up on his one-year birthday."

"Hector is a Covid puppy," said Ingell Berado, while cradling her chihuahua. "So, we got him when we moved back to Pennsylvania from Utah."

The event is a big fundraiser for the Bedford County Humane Society, to help them find more pets their forever home.

"I have had numerous dogs from the Humane Society," Roadman noted, "and they just... honestly, they do make the...best pets."
