Police arrested a man they said forced his way into a woman's hotel room and repeatedly raped her for 6 1/2 hours.

According to Logan Township police, 51-year-old Kevin Thompkins assaulted the victim sexually and physically at a Motel 6 along Sterling Street from 11 p.m. Friday until 5:30 a.m. Saturday.

In a criminal complaint, the victim told police she and Thompkins had been on-and-off friends for about a year. The woman said he started harassing her while she was at a bar in Altoona. According to the complaint, Thompkins repeatedly called and texted her asking for money and a ride from Gallitzin.

Police said the victim told Thompkins she wasn't giving him any money and that she couldn't give him a ride. According to police, the victim was driving back to her hotel when she claims Thompkins caught up with her and drove his car into the back of hers while at a stoplight.

The complaint states the victim thought she lost Thompkins in traffic while driving back to her hotel. As she entered her room, the victim said Thompkins forced his way into the room, choked her and threatened her with a stun gun.

Police said Thompkins threatened to kill her when she tried to escape.

The complaint states the victim attempted to escape a second time by telling Thompkins she would give him money to leave. Thompkins let the victim go to her car to get money, and as he looked away, she started her car and drove a Sheetz on East Plank Road to call police.

Police said they found and arrested Thompkins in Dysart.

Court documents show Thompkins is facing 16 criminal charges, including rape, burglary and false imprisonment. He is being held at the Blair County Prison on $100,000 cash bail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Nov. 15 at 9 a.m.
