CLEARFIELD - A new Penn Highlands Health Care facility is coming to Clearfield County.

Lawrence Township Supervisors approved the plans for a walk-in medical clinic called Q-Care, which can be used by patients anytime without an appointment.

The plans are to expand the former Northwest Savings Bank on River Road in Clearfield, across from the Big Lots Plaza.

The existing building will be renovated and a new addition will be built to create the medical office.

The facility will have three examination rooms and a doctor's office, and expects to have about 10 employees and 60 patient visits per day.

"It will include not only the Q-Care clinic, but also provide X-ray and lab services," the president of Penn Highlands Clearfield, Gary Macioce, said. "It will be another place of service in the Clearfield region for patients to walk in, who need routine blood work and X-rays performed."

Macioce said they hope construction can start in March and open the facility in July.
