PALM BEACH, Fla. (TND) — Former first lady Melania Trump has announced the death of her mother.
Amalija Knav had been reported to be sick over the past few days.
Tuesday night, she posted on X, “Amalija Knavs was a strong woman who always carried herself with grace, warmth, and dignity.
“She was entirely devoted to her husband, daughters, grandson, and son-in-law.
“We will miss her beyond measure and continue to honor and love her legacy.”
She did not mention her mother's age, or any plans for a memorial.
Mrs. Trump was born in Slovenia, according to her White House biography.
"She is the second first lady born outside of the United States, and she is the only first lady to become a naturalized U.S. citizen."
