Penn State says repaired Nittany Lion Shrine will reopen Saturday

University Park, PA (WJAC) UPDATE: Penn State University has announced that the Nittany Lion Shrine at University Park will reopen on Saturday, May 28th. ORIGINAL: Officials say crews are continuing to repair the Nittany Lion Shrine, located on Penn State's University Park campus, after it was vandalized earlier this month.

Officials say crews are continuing to repair the Nittany Lion Shrine, located on Penn State's University Park campus, after it was vandalized earlier this month.

According to the university, vandals broke an ear and splashed red paint on the shrine, in addition to graffitiing Old Main, and the Hintz Family Alumni Center, in red paint.

Officials say the repair work is expected to be completed within the next week, if not sooner.

Campus police have not made any announcement regarding any suspect(s) responsible for the vandalism.
