INDIANA COUNTY, Pa. (WJAC) — Humane society officials say they were called to help capture nearly 40 dogs found roaming a property after the alleged owner had died.
Officials with the Cambia County Animal Response Team (CART) say state police responded to a property in southern Indiana County Thursday.
CART officials say they were later called to help the Indiana County Humane Society in gathering the estimated 40+ dogs roaming free on the grounds.
They say the alleged owner had died, leaving no one to care for the dozens of animals.
The ICHS had removed a number of dogs before CART members arrived.
They say the Action for Animals Humane Society of Latrobe also assisted with gathering the animals on the property, although they're still looking for more dogs.
Officials say you can contact any of the societies to make a donation or ask about adopting any of the dogs.
