JOHNSTOWN, Pa. (WJAC) — “This is November 3 November, November 3 November. Special event station at the 135th anniversary of the Johnstown Flood, 1889.”
Local Ham radio operators are transmitting from the Johnstown Flood National Memorial Friday night.
They were given a permit from the National Park Service and a special call sign for the event by the FCC, to talk to other Ham radio operators worldwide.
Operators will also be at the 195th anniversary of the Allegheny Portage Railroad event on June 22nd.
