JOHNSTOWN -- Conemaugh Valley unveiled a brand new scoreboard at its softball field Wednesday. The new addition honors a former Lady Blue Jay.
Becky Castiglione and her family have been looking for a way to honor their daughter and give back to the softball program.
Madison Stetson - who played on the first-ever Conemaugh Valley junior high softball team - died unexpectedly in 2010.
Money raised through a school dance and a junior high softball tournament last year helped purchase and install the scoreboard in left field.
"I think it's just a great tribute to her and what she stood for and what she believed in and she loved being a Blue Jay," Castiglione told 6 Sports.
"She'll get to forever be here and be part of the Conemaugh Valley family and the Blue Jay community."
Conemaugh Valley went on to beat North Star 15-0 Wednesday evening.
