Jonesboro, Arkansas — Two Arkansas police officers responded to a call on Monday that they haven't been trained for.
According to a Facebook post from the Jonesboro Police Department, a local resident called for help to remove a chicken sitting on her front porch.
Officer Nathan Swindle - a new recruit - and his field training officer Maurice Kinnard were dispatched to the area to apprehend the trespasser.
While Officer Swindle went on a wild chase, Officer Kinnard kept a watchful eye on the situation to make sure the fugitive fowl didn't escape again.
After a relentless foot pursuit, Officer Swindle saved the day by catching the culprit.
The Facebook post said the perpetrator was returned to its home safely.
