EBENSBURG, Pa. - Conemaugh Health System officials announced Friday they have purchased land in Ebensburg to construct a $22 million outpatient center.

The planned 40,000-square-foot building will be constructed at the intersection of routes 219 and 22.

"We are pleased to officially announce our plans to open a new outpatient center in Ebensburg,” said Steve Tucker, chief executive officer of Conemaugh Health System.

“Conemaugh has been providing high-quality medical care in Ebensburg for more than thirty years, and our investment in this center will make it even more convenient for patients to access great health care, close to home.”

The outpatient center will consist a variety of outpatient services, consolidating and expanding imaging lab services and hosting specialty-care physician offices.

Construction for the project is slated to begin in October and is expected to take about one year to complete.

Earlier this year, UPMC opened a $20 million outpatient center in Ebensburg.
