PITTSBURGH (WJAC) — According to a report from NFL Insider Mike Garafolo, the Pittsburgh Steelers and quarterback Mitch Trubisky have reportedly agreed to "mutually part ways."
Trubisky was drafted by the Chicago Bears in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft.
After spending four seasons in Chicago, and one in Buffalo, Trubisky signed a two-year deal with Pittsburgh in 2022.
Pittsburgh then signed Trubisky to a two-year contract extension prior to the start of the 2023 season.
Trubisky faced heavy criticism this past season after filling in for injured starting quarterback Kenny Pickett, losing both games as a starter.
Trubiksy appeared in 12 total games for the Steelers, in two seasons, starting seven of them.
He finished with a record of 2-5 as a starting QB for Pittsburgh; completing 64% of his passes, for over 1,800 yards, 8 touchdowns and 10 interceptions.
