Blair Co., PA (WJAC) — After a four year pause due to the pandemic, the "Purple Puck hockey game" will be making its return to Galactic Ice this Sunday, January 28th.
The Purple Puck game is an effort between the Penn State Altoona men’s hockey team, the Griffith Family Foundation, Easter for Eli and the Mario Lemieux Foundation.
It serves as a fundraiser for the organizations involved, as well as a way to celebrate those who have beat cancer, support those who are fighting it and honor those who have lost their battles.
HOLLIDAYSBURG, Pa. - The Hollidaysburg Area School District is investigating a video posted to social media that contains racist language that appears to have originated from a student within the district. According to a post from the district, school officials said they have been in contact with local law enforcement about the video an are looking to take swift and appropriate action. NORTHERN CAMBRIA – A Northern Cambria man was arrested over the weekend after police had been searching for him for two months.
Police said James Mccachren, 21, of the 2000 block of Railroad Avenue, assaulted a man in August at an apartment on Bigler Avenue.
The man was taken to Conemaugh Miners Medical Center in Hastings for treatment of a bruised temple and swollen lip.
Mccachren is charged with burglary, criminal trespass, simple assault, and harassment.
NEW YORK (AP) — A neurologist already facing charges that he raped patients in New York and New Jersey was arrested on new federal charges Wednesday alleging that he was a serial, sexual abuser of women who went to him for help with debilitating chronic pain.
An indictment said Dr. Ricardo Cruciani, who specialized in rare pain syndromes, abused multiple patients over 15 years at his offices in New York City, Philadelphia and Hopewell, New Jersey.
