Johnstown police department receives $200,000 check for mobile crime unit

The Johnstown Police Department was presented a $200,000 check today for a mobile crime scene vehicle. There are two active homicide investigations in Johnstown. One for the death of the owner of the freight station bar in late February, and one for the deadly shooting on Park Avenue in January. Shortly after the park avenue shooting, State Representative of the 72nd District Frank Burns announced his plans to give grant money to Johnstown’s police.

Red Flash roster full of local talent

LORETTO, PA (WJAC) -- The Saint Francis football team opens their season on the road next Thursday in Akron, Ohio. The Red Flash held a media luncheon today where we got to learn more about the team. Head coach Chris Villarrial is the most winningest coach in program history with 51 wins. The roster this year is full of transfer students and local athletes. From our viewing area, 13 players are featured on the team.

Steelers make Minkah Fitzpatrick highest paid safety with 4 year extension

PITTSBURGH (WJAC) — According to NFL Insider Adam Schefter, the Pittsburgh Steelers have signed defensive-back Minkah Fitzpatrick to a four-year contract extension, making him the highest paid safety in league history. Fitzpatrick's new deal is worth over $18 million per year, with $36 million guaranteed. Fitzpatrick, who still had one year left on his current contract, has spent the past 2+ seasons in Pittsburgh after being traded from the Dolphins early in the 2019 season.

UPDATE | CLEARFIELD COUNTY, Pa. (WJAC) — Authorities say a Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshal is still investigating the cause of the blaze that damaged three homes in Clearfield County Wednesday night. More than 100 firefighters responded to the 2-alarm fire, which broke out along the 100 block of Wilson Ave. in DuBois around 6:30 p.m. Authorities say three firefighters were injured while battling the blaze, two of which were treated at Penn Highlands DuBois while the other was treated on scene.
