Surveillance footage of gas purchase leads to arson, double homicide arrest

PHOENIX (TND) — A woman who was arrested in connection to an arson and two murders was seen in surveillance footage showing "a very small amount of gas" being purchased at gas station. Katisha Susan Smith, 44 was arrested last week for her involvement in the April 27 arson at a Phoenix building that killed two people. Sheriff's investigators found a deceased person inside J&J Sofa Manufacturing while processing the scene after the fire was extinguished, according to Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office.

Teen dead after high-speed chase with troopers in Huntingdon County, state police say

HUNTINGDON COUNTY, Pa. (WJAC) — State police say a teenager was killed in a high-speed chase with troopers in Huntingdon County over the weekend. According to state police, just before midnight, troopers tried to pull over a vehicle Friday on State Route 22 for multiple traffic violations. They say the vehicle was being driven by a 17-year-old who refused to stop and sped away from troopers. State police say the chase continued onto Hartslog Valley Road and continued for several miles until the vehicle left the road and crashed into an embankment and two trees.

Former inmate sues Centre County Prison over 'shameful' conditions, medical treatment

CENTRE COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — A former inmate at the Centre County Prison has filed a federal lawsuit claiming the lack of medical treatment and other conditions at the prison are "shameful.” Jessica Tressler says she was an inmate at the prison in April of 2022. She claims despite being in severe pain, she wasn't properly treated at the prison for opiate withdrawal and an infection, and was eventually transferred to a hospital for heart valve surgery.

Indiana Co. man to serve decades behind bars for role in 2016 double murder

Indiana County, PA (WJAC) — Authorities with the Pennsylvania Office of the Attorney General say an Indiana County man will serve decades in prison after pleading guilty in a 2016 double murder case. Prosecutors say 25-year-old Nathaniel Price entered the plea, earlier this week, to two counts of third-degree murder in the deaths of Timothy Gardner and Jaqueline Brink. Price and two others, Justin Stevenson and Isaiah Scott, were charged in 2016 after the couple was found dead inside their Cherryhill Township home.
