More charges filed in Centre Co. drug investigation; State College man ID'd as ring leader

Centre Co., PA (WJAC) — Authorities say more criminal charges have been filed in connection to what police say was a large-scale drug ring operating in Centre County and surrounding areas. According to a recently released grand jury investigation, close to a dozen people were involved in the drug distribution network, including 46-year-old Larry David, of State College, who was identified as the head of the drug ring. Police initially arrested David in the spring of 2021, and say they found over 1,400 baggies of heroin in his car, but the investigation of David, and others, dates back to 2020.

PA Senate approves resolution that would combat 'porting' issues within Cambria County

Johnstown, Pa — The Pennsylvania Senate recently approved a resolution introduced by Senator Wayne Langerholc that would address the issues of ‘porting’ within the Housing Choice Voucher Program. “I rise to ask for support for Senate Resolution 45,” said Langerholc. “This resolution will call on the federal government to address the issue of porting.” Langerholc introduced this resolution to the Pennsylvania Senate in March after seeing how 'porting' is impacting areas within Cambria County - especially Johnstown.

Quarantine on 52 Pennsylvania counties to prevent spotted lantern fly spread

52 counties across the state of Pennsylvania — including all of the counties in our coverage area — are quarantining spotted lantern flies. "In those counties there are confirmed population of spotted lantern fly which is a destructive, invasive insect that threatens agriculture and Pennsylvania way of life,” said Shannon Powers, the Press Secretary for the PA Dept. of Agriculture. All of this in efforts to kill off and prevent these insects from spreading even more throughout the commonwealth.
