Pennsylvania to ban cell phone use while driving in effort to reduce distracted driving

HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) — Pennsylvania will join the majority of states that ban motorists from handling a cell phone for almost any purpose while driving, as backers of the legislation hope to reduce distracted driving accidents and deaths after nearly two decades of pressing the measure. Gov. Josh Shapiro's office said Thursday that the Democrat will sign the bill, 18 years after he first introduced a similar bill when he served in the state House of Representatives.

Pickup vs. Freightliner crash on PA Turnpike leaves one dead: PSP

FULTON COUNTY, Pa. — One man is dead following a vehicle accident in Fulton County after his pickup truck collided with a Freightliner truck Wednesday evening, according to Pennsylvania State Police. According to a press release, Richard Spencer, 41, was traveling east in an unknown travel lane on I76 when he traveled across the shoulder and entered the grass to the south of the roadway. State police say Spencer then went on an embankment before rolling over, ejecting him from the back window of his vehicle.

Somerset County's 3C's church invites all to 20-acre Easter egg hunt with big prizes

SOMERSET COUNTY, Pa. (WJAC) — A Somerset County church is hosting its fourth annual easter egg hunt this weekend. Michael Ragozzino, lead pastor at 3C's church, said the event is open to individuals of all ages. Ragozzino said over 3,000 eggs of various sizes will be hidden throughout a 20-acre area, including one lucky egg with hundreds of dollars’ worth of prizes inside. Food will also be provided during the event in addition to the egg hunt and other Easter activities.

Berks Co. man reunited with lost pet alligator name 'Fluffy'

Exeter Township, PA — An alligator named Fluffy is now back with his owner after a Pennsylvania landscaper found him in a creek. "We just caught an alligator. We're famous." When landscaper Shawn Sancinella saw an alligator near his job site in Exeter Township Wednesday morning, he made a snap decision. "I couldn't believe it, it was wild. I'm like, we're in Pennsylvania, no alligators are going to be in here.
