Pennsylvania Turnpike to be closed overnight Saturday in Bedford County

BEDFORD, Pa. - The Pennsylvania Turnpike will be closed in both directions from Bedford Exit 146 to Breezewood Exit 161 from 11:30 p.m. Saturday until 5 a.m. Sunday. The closure is for crews to safely remove the bridge that carries traffic on Hazelette Street at mile marker 154.5 in West Providence Township. The following detours are in place: Eastbound traffic exiting the Turnpike at the Bedford Interchange will be given this suggested detour:

Windber man accused of harassing, groping woman who was walking her dog

WINDBER, Pa (WJAC) — Authorities in Windber Borough say a local man is facing charges following an alleged incident of harassment over the weekend. Police say around 9 a.m. Saturday, officers were dispatched to the 1300 block of Somerset Avenue for a reported indecent assault. According to the affidavit, police say the victim was out walking her dog when she allegedly noticed a male, in close proximity, who was "making her feel uneasy.

FAA investigating after four injured in small plane crash near Ebensburg

CAMBRIA TOWNSHIP, Pa. (WJAC) - Numerous emergency crews are on the scene of a plane crash in the Ebensburg area, according to officials on scene. Crews responded to a Cessna down around 1:30 p.m. A Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) official said Sunday that the plane was a Piper PA-34 aircraft and that it crashed one mile north of Ebensburg Airport around 1:45 p.m. Saturday with four people on board. It happened near Beulah and Allie Buck Roads near the Wastewater Treatment Plant and Ebensburg Airport.

Hamas delegation to visit Egypt for further Gaza ceasefire talks

BEIRUT (AP) — Hamas said Thursday that it was sending a delegation to Egypt forfurther cease-fire talks, in a new sign of progress in attempts by international mediators to hammer out an agreement between Israel and the militant group to end the war in Gaza. After months of stop-and-start negotiations, the cease-fire efforts appear to have reached a critical stage, with Egyptian and American mediators reporting signs of compromise in recent days.
