3 officers injured, 1 suspect dead, 1 in custody after police chase

VILLA RICA, Ga. (AP) — Three Georgia police officers were shot and wounded as they pursued two brothers from Alabama in a high-speed chase that ended early Monday with one brother shot and killed and the other in custody, authorities said. A Georgia State Patrol trooper clocked a Nissan Sentra going 111 mph (179 kph) on Interstate 20 and initiated a traffic stop around 3:30 a.m., Georgia State Patrol Capt. Brandon Dawson said.

Altoona code enforcement "condemns" church

ALTOONA -- Archway Ministries in Altoona is closed this week with a "condemned" sign on the door. The church's food bank serves more than 100 people monthly, but pastor and building owner Louis Grillo said that service is put on hold. During an inspection, officers found evidence of rats and mice throughout the building and food pantry, according to City Code Enforcement Director Rebecca Brown. "There is an infestation problem," she said.

Pennsylvania senators push to end daylight saving time due to cost and health concerns

Since then, studies by the National Bureau of Economic Research have shown the opposite. State officials give update on dam at High Point Lake

SOMERSET, Pa. - Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission addressed the current status of the dam atHigh Point Lake and said residents should remain on high alert. Officials said water is slowly draining from the dam and is expected to drop 12 to 15 feet in the next two weeks. Officials said there was a malfunction with the intake of the dam, leading to too much water running through a pipe under the dam.
