Arkansas officers chase runaway chicken

Jonesboro, Arkansas — Two Arkansas police officers responded to a call on Monday that they haven't been trained for. According to a Facebook post from the Jonesboro Police Department, a local resident called for help to remove a chicken sitting on her front porch. Officer Nathan Swindle - a new recruit - and his field training officer Maurice Kinnard were dispatched to the area to apprehend the trespasser. While Officer Swindle went on a wild chase, Officer Kinnard kept a watchful eye on the situation to make sure the fugitive fowl didn't escape again.

Centre County sees decreasing trend in COVID-19 cases as PA reports record high numbers

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. (WJAC) — As COVID-19 cases are spiking nationwide and in most of our region, in Centre County, it's been bit of a different story. When the county paid close to $250,000 to open a free COVID-19 testing center at the Nittany Mall last week, it was expected about 300 people a day would be tested. So far, that’s not the case, not even close, as the daily testing average has been about 125 people.

Dabney Coleman, actor who specialized in curmudgeons, dies at 92

NEW YORK (AP) — — Dabney Coleman, the mustachioed character actor who specialized in smarmy villains like the chauvinist boss in "9 to 5" and the nasty TV director in "Tootsie," has died. He was 92. Coleman died Thursday, his daughter, Quincy Coleman, told The Hollywood Reporter. No other details were immediately available. "The great Dabney Coleman literally created, or defined, really — in a uniquely singular way — an archetype as a character actor.

Johnstown man accused of raping woman in basement of Cambria Co. apartment

CAMBRIA COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — Authorities in Cambria County say a Johnstown man is jailed following an investigation into allegations that he sexually assaulted a woman in the basement of a local apartment. Police say in late April, officers with the Stonycreek Township police department were contacted to investigate an alleged sexual assault at an apartment building along Emilio Street. Investigators say the victim told police that she reportedly met the suspect, later identified as 20-year-old Raemil Morris, on Facebook.

New medical marijuana dispensary opens in DuBois

DUBOIS, Pa. - Clearfield County's first medical marijuana dispensary opened its doors Monday in DuBois. Grassroots Cannabis, an Illinois-based medical cannabis company with licensed business operations in six states and growing, opened a new Herbology medical cannabis dispensary on South Brady Street. More than 40 patients stopped by the dispensary Monday. The company’s Herbology medical cannabis dispensaries serve patients with cannabis products, including flower, ingestible and topicals, cannabidiol (CBD) products, concentrates, oil vape cartridges and disposable vape pens.
