Penn State announces 'indefinite' suspension of fraternity following hazing investigation

University Park, PA (WJAC) — Penn State University officials say the decision was made earlier this week to "indefinitely" suspend the Phi Kappa Sigma fraternity following an alleged hazing investigation. University officials say the investigation revealed "widespread and pervasive" hazing that had occurred for several years. Authorities say the fraternity was given an interim suspension in late September and their attempted appeal was denied. The university says the fraternity was previously suspended in 2018, for similar violations, and the most recent investigation showed that the hazing had continued.

PO volleyball takes home silver in PIAA state title match

JOHNSTOWN -- Philipsburg-Osceola traveled to Mechanicsburg to face Trinity in the PIAA 2A volleyball state title game. The Mounties lost in 4 sets to the Shamrocks to take home silver. This is the furthest Philipsburg-Osceola volleyball has traveled in the post season. Head coach Dave Eckberg said he was proud the way his team faced adversity this season. With a core group of young girls, Eckberg is excited to have the team back together next season.
